Episode 3 [Part 2] :: Question 2 on Worship

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Question 2- Chidimma (USA): Hello Pastor Chris! Thank you for this great opportunity to have our questions answered. Could you please shed more light on the subject of worship and the saints being worshippers of God? Jesus said that the true worshippers will worship God in Spirit and in truth. What does it mean to worship God in Spirit and in truth? What does it mean to worship God with your life?

Answer 2: Well, to worship God in Spirit and in truth means to worship God from your Spirit and in reality, and how do you worship God in reality? Through the Word! So, that’s what it means, very simply put. But it’s important that I read to you the scriptures; your question is “What does it mean to worship God with your life?” Okay, I’ll read to you from Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Now why did he say “...be not conformed to this world”? Because of something he said [you know verse 2 starts with the word 'and'] in verse 1 and that will enlighten you: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice...” [Romans 12:1]. You present your body. How can you? Who presents your body? Your spirit! God expects you to live from you Spirit and so it says “...you present your body” so you’re not a body, your body belongs to you - “...present your body, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” and a better rendering [a new version] says “which is your spiritual act of worship”, so it is a spiritual act of worship when you present your body and who does the presenting? Your spirit!

Now, that is important because if you turn to the book of Romans 1:9 [he gives you a light to this] “For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son...” I serve God with my Spirit. How do you serve God with your spirit? By doing things from your spirit, like one, it says present your body. Your spirit does the presentation and then when you worship God, you worship in the spirit. For example, Paul says, “I will sing with the Spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also” [1 Corinthian 14:15]. So, we worship God from our spirits. If you would go to 1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ”, because he’s made us priests unto Him. So, we are worshippers [you see], so we render spiritual service, spiritual service, spiritual worship, so always remember that. It says that you should serve God with your spirit. That’s the way you serve Him with your spirit - by living in the Word - you walk in the Word and it’s your spirit that responds to the Word of God. Your spirit responds to the Word of God; that’s why we say that faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God.

Episode 3 [Part 2] :: Question 1 on Water Baptism

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Question 1 – John Obama (Tanzania): Dear Pastor, my question is this, as a new creation, is water baptism (by immersion) important? If so, what is its significance?

Answer 1: Alright, Romans 6:3-4, the Bible says “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” That exactly tells us the significance of water baptism. I’ll read it again, from verse 4 [quotes Romans 6:4 again]. In other words, when you are dipped into that water...baptism is an answer of a conscience to God. It’s a testimony of your faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When the Minister of God dips you into that water, you are likened unto His death and unto His burial; so he dips you in so you are buried with Him by baptism into death and then when he brings you out of the water, he says “...like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father...” so you now walk in newness of life; so water baptism is significant. The Bible tells us that the children of Israel were baptised unto Moses in the sea [1 Corinthians 10:1-2]. That was water baptism, but it does tell us that they were baptized unto Moses; see that?

Now, in the New Testament, we are baptized unto Jesus Christ so this is very important [quotes Romans 6:4]. Now remember, when the children of Israel went out of Egypt, the Egyptians went after them and what was the final separation from Egypt? It was when they were baptised unto Moses in the sea - when they went through the water and came out on the other side. The Egyptians tried to do the same and they were buried in the water; they all died. So, baptism is the sign of your final separation from the world. Egypt was a type of the world, and you are finally separated from the world so it’s like a kind of salvation but not the salvation of taking away your sins but the salvation of a good conscience.

Now, let me read that to you because that’s...I’m just giving you the words of Peter the Apostle, 1 Peter 3:18-20“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water..” Eight souls were saved by water; now he’s likening again water baptism to this. In verse 21, it says this “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us [then in parenthesis it says] (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” See that? So, it’s very, very important and then it’s also an act of obedience to the Words of Jesus. Jesus said to us to baptise them when they believe in Jesus, when people come to Christ, when sinners come to Christ, they should be baptised. It says in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, in the name of the Holy Spirit; what name is that? The name of Jesus! So, they must be baptised; so, every Christian should understand that that is important. Baptism is important - water baptism. Okay, now here’s another question.

Episode 3 [Part 1] :: Question 5 on Being Filled with the Spirit

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Question 5 - Rachael (Cameroon): When you feel reluctant to pray does it mean you are spiritually weak? What are the practical steps one should take to always have the move of the Spirit in his life?

Answer 5: Well, very simple. When you feel reluctant to pray, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are weak but it does signify a problem because you shouldn’t feel reluctant to pray; you should want to pray. And what you do is, learn to stir up your spirit. The bible says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue, edifieth himself” [1 Corinthians 14:4], that means you’re building your spirit like a battery, you’re charging yourself or re-charging your spirit. That’s what you do – you come alive. So, the practical step that one should take to always have the move of the Spirit is what the bible says, to be filled with the Spirit.

The Greek rendering of that scripture in Ephesians Chapter 5 verse 18, “And be not drunk with win wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit” – the Greek rendering - actually is “be being filled with the Spirit”, meaning “continually filled with the Spirit.” The practical steps given to us are the following, verse 19: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” 'Speaking to yourselves' means ‘you talking to you'. You’re talking to you, the other guy is talking to himself, and she’s talking to herself. It doesn’t mean I’m talking to you and you’re talking to me. I’m talking to me and you’re talking to you. So, “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [verse 20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; [verse 21] Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. [Ephesians 5:18-21] So that’s what you do to be ‘being-filled’ continually with the Spirit and remember, I said also, speaking in tongues, because in 1 Corinthians Chapter 14 verse 2: “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries,” verse 4: “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.”

These are significant thoughts given to us from the scriptures to help us understand God’s ways of doing things. Now, we’ll just take a break.

Episode 3 [Part 1] :: Question 4 on Dating/Relationships

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Question 4 - Alisha (South Africa): Can a Christian date a non-believer?

Answer 4: The answer is “no” [for] several reasons. In 1st Corinthians Chapter 7, I’d read quickly to you, verse 10, “And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: [verse 11] But if she does leave him, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. Likewise, a husband must not abandon his wife.” Period! He lets you understand God doesn’t want divorce. And then he comes in here to say something, that lets us understand the mind of God concerning these things. Verse 12, “But to the rest I speak, not the Lord:…”; what he’s saying is, the Lord has not given a particular statement, because when he started Chapter 7, he let us know when the Lord made a statement about something. This is because the Lord did make a statement when he was here, but now, Paul says, I’m giving you this, the Lord hasn’t said this, and he didn’t say this then because the Gospel that he brought had not been completely consummated. So, here he says, in verse 12, “But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.” This is, after they have been married, one of them receives Christ. A brother became a Christian - a man became a Christian after he was already married. He became a Christian but his wife was not...didn’t come to Christ, did not receive salvation, was not a Christian at the time. So, Paul says, the man should not leave her – “don’t put her away.” Verse 13: “And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.” The same thing, if a wife received Christ and her husband has not received Christ, Paul says, she should not leave the husband. But watch this, verse 14, “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.” He says, just because one part is born again, i.e. the husband is born again and the wife is not or the wife is born again and the husband is not, he says, one of them has sanctified the other by virtue of marriage. Now, that doesn’t mean that the other one is born again, but he says there is no uncleanness now in their union because one is born again. So, their children are sanctified – which means God has a right to these children; they are no longer children of the devil. God has a right to them. So, he can work on their salvation – they can receive salvation. They can be saved; they would come to Christ. Now, here is something very significant he strikingly says in verse 15 “But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God has called us to peace. [1 Corinthians 7:10-15]

Wow! Can you imagine that God would allow divorce because the non-Christian walked away? Either the non-Christian husband or wife walked away, and he says the brother or sister in such circumstances is not under bondage. God allowed it. That’s to let you understand how serious it is that the man and his wife be born again or it means their separation is allowed by God. This is very significant. What that tells you is this, let me read the 16th verse, “For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?”. He says the reason he advises that you do not do that to yourself is so that salvation could be possible for the other party. That’s why he says that. So, salvation could be possible. But, if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. Now, that suggests to us that God cares about who you get married to. If you were already married before salvation, then you got no problem but before marriage, you cannot date someone who is not a Christian.

I’ll give you another reason for that, in verse 39, “The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.” Only in the Lord! So, here, a widow is allowed to re-marry, with a strict instruction here – it says only in the Lord. In other words, she can only marry a Christian, which means when you study the whole chapter, it is clearly understood that God expects you to only marry a Christian.

So, if you’re dating a non-Christian, why are you dating him? What are you dating him for? What are you dating her for? It means you’re planning to marry a non-Christian. And that’s not going to work. So, if you were already married before you became a Christian and the other party was not a Christian, it’s allowed, it says, you don’t have to quit. But if the unbelieving leaves, then there’s no problem. You’re not in bondage; you don’t have to cry over that. But, if you’re not yet married, then he says, you can’t go after a non-Christian.

Episode 3 [Part 1] :: Question 3 on Addictions

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Question 3 - Daminabo (Nigeria): Sir, how do I get over my addictions? I have tried speaking to them but I am still tempted to do the same things. What should I do?

Answer 3: You’re not supposed to be talking or speaking to your addictions. You’re supposed to be speaking to yourself, not to your addictions; so, there’s where you were wrong. You can talk to your addictions all year long and nothing will change. You talk to yourself. Now, why that is very important, Proverbs 25: 28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” You see, the man who has no rule over his spirit, who has no control over his spirit, is like a city that is broken down and without walls, which means ‘anything goes.’ It means anything can come in – the enemy can come into that city because the walls of the city are broken down. He that has no rule over his spirit, his own spirit, is like a city that is broken down and without walls. That’s terrible, and what’s he saying? You’ve got to have rule over your spirit, you’ve got to have control over your spirit, and you’ve got to have mastery over your spirit – that’s what his telling you.

And really, if you would study from the Bible, 2 Peter, over in the New Testament, 2 Peter Chapter 1 from verse 5: “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [I want you to notice in that verse 6 the word ‘temperance’ because I am going to go back in there] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (Love). For if these things be in you, and abound, [That means, if they are in you in increasing measure and they remain there, he says], they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Then he says in verse 9: “But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. [2 Peter 1:5-9] The 6th verse says “And to knowledge temperance”’ He says to you, add temperance to your life - add to your faith. When you come to Christ, you have faith; faith is given to you through the gospel. The bible says that He has given to us “the measure of faith” [Romans 12:3]. So, you receive that faith when you receive the gospel. Now he says “…add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge;” and “to knowledge temperance.” You are the one to add it!

Temperance is from the Greek word, ‘egkrateia’. It means self-control; it means ‘holding yourself back,’ the ability to restrain yourself, self-restraint, self-control. Just like what we read in Proverbs Chapter 25 verse 28, where it says the man who doesn’t have rule over his on spirit is like a city that’s broken down without walls. So, you’ve got to have rule over your spirit; you’ve got to have self-control. So, that’s what it’s talking about here.

So, you must do something. You’re not going to be talking to your addictions; you’re going to be talking to yourself. You’re going to be talking to your own spirit. You’re going to be saying to yourself – “I will not do this” and when you say [that], because you have control over yourself, you’re not going to do it. So, gain the mastery over yourself. If you lose control over yourself, you’ve got a problem. It means the city’s broken down. And the beautiful thing about this is, when you receive Christ into your life, your spirit is enabled with certain qualities, and I want to read those qualities to you. Remember what we read about temperance.

So, we go over to Galatians Chapter number 5, I’m reading to you from the 22nd verse, “But the fruit of the Spirit…,” this is the recreated human spirit, the born again spirit. He says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love”: the fruit – that means it’s there, it’s the product of the spirit; it’s the work of the Spirit. In the 19th verse it says “Now the works of the flesh are manifest,…” and it gives us the works of the flesh which means the fruits of the flesh. Then, he comes over to verse 22 and tells us of the spirit, because it’s a comparison of the spirit and the flesh. So, he comes over to verse 22 and says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [verse 23] meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. [Galatians 5:22-23] Temperance - self-control - which means you’ve got it in your spirit. You cannot say “I have no rule over my spirit, I have no self-control, I can’t do this” No, no no. You can, because you’re born again. If you’re born again, he says “the fruit of the spirit is” and he tells you all of them; they’re all in there, in you – it’s a product of your spirit.

So, you say this “I have self-control and I’m going to put it to work. I have temperance and I’m going to put it to work. I can rule over my own spirit and I’m going to do it. ” So, that’s the talking you’re supposed to do, not to talk to the addictions but to your own spirit.

Episode 3 [Part 1] :: Question 2 on Sin

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Question 2 – Rotimi (UK): Thank you Pastor for this wonderful opportunity we have to hear the word for God from you every week. Sir, can you please explain what sin is according to the New Testament? I heard you say he that walks in love cannot sin at the same time, and then you said a brother cannot steal from someone to repay another because of love. [Yeah] Pastor what about the sin the Bible calls ‘sinning against his body’ (1 Corinthians 6:18). Please, Pastor, throw more light on what sin is in the New Testament. Thank you sir.

Answer 2: Alright. Well, you’ve actually got two questions there. So, I will just run through them. 1 Corinthians Chapter 6, from verse 15: “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.” Did you hear that? Then, it says, [verse 16-20]: “What? Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. [1 Corinthians 6:15-20]

He says here, if you join yourself with a harlot, it means that you have joined yourself with several others, because a harlot is one who sells her body to others, and so, it says, joining yourself to a harlot makes you one with others. So, your body becomes part of whatever that harlot has contracted. So, he says, you sin against your body by doing this. So, that’s the explanation for sin against…he didn’t say sin against his body like the body [the Church], he says sin against your physical body –you, your body.

Then, secondly, “what is sin in the New Testament?” Sin in the New Testament is…I advise you to get our tape on the Concept of Sin; it helps you to understand all of these details. But first, I might first want to quickly give you a light to this. The parameters for judging sin are two things – two key things in the Bible. The first one is love, the second one is faith. Now, in Romans Chapter 13, reading to you from verse 8: “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Did you hear that? He that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Then it goes on to say this, “For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. [Romans 13:8-10]” That’s what the Bible says. So, anything that is outside love is sin. So, love is the fulfilling of the law. So, by walking in love, you walk in God.

Secondly, if you would go to Romans Chapter 14, verse number 23; let me read to you from verse 22, so you’ll get the right context: “Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. [Romans 14:22] Are you hearing that? So, in the New Testament, it says, it’s not whether "What is this? Or what is that? How do I define this, or how do I define that?" He says it’s got to do with something here that he gives us. I’ll read it again but you’ll have to read the whole chapter for yourself to get the whole picture. He says “Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God” – let it be between you and God – “Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. [Verse 23] And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

He’s telling you that in faith towards God and in faith towards the Word of God, whatever you do, with which you do not condemn yourself, like in this case where he was giving [for example] eating food offered to idols. He says, if you condemn yourself for it, then you have sinned. He says, “happy is he that condemn not himself in that thing which he allows” – which he ‘does’. The one who doubts is damned; he’s condemned if he goes ahead because he is not doing it out of faith, because “whatsoever is not of faith is sin”. So, you want to understand sin in the New Testament? That’s exactly it. Something, whatever is outside love or whatever is outside faith or whatever is outside both of them, because the Bible does say “Faith works by love. [Galatians 5:6]

Then, two things are given to us as the causes of sin: first one is selfishness and the second one is fear. Really, when you study the Bible, you’ll discover that selfishness is really the opposite of love and fear is the opposite of faith. See, why do people tell lies? Because they are afraid. They’re afraid of what might happen if they told the truth. That’s why. Why do people steal? Because they’re selfish and they have no faith about God being able to provide for them; they’re afraid that they may never have and they’re selfish. So, selfishness and fear are the causes of sin, and the parameters for judging sin are love and faith.

Episode 3 [Part 1] :: Question 1 on the Judgment

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Well, for today’s questions we have:

Question 1 – Ruby Lamb (USA): Dear Pastor Chris, in Hebrews 9:27, it says “it is appointed unto man once to die, after death, judgment”. Please explain when and where the judgment will take place. God bless you.

Answer 1: Firstly, it’s important for us to, read accurately what the Bible really says in that portion, Hebrews Chapter 9 verse 27; I’d like to read it to you properly, because I noticed that, all over the world [because it’s misquoted] they get the wrong interpretation. The bible does not say “it is appointed unto man once to die,” it doesn’t say so!

It reads thus: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" and the sentence is not over until you go into verse 28. It doesn’t say “It is appointed,” it says, “As it is appointed” and it starts with the word 'And'. 'And' - the Greek word there - could also be rendered 'now'. It says “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:", and then it says “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. [Hebrews 9:28]

Now, you can get the real picture: He does not say that “It is appointed unto men once to die,” but that “As it is appointed”. In other words, because “it is appointed”, Christ died once. That’s the argument. You have to understand the context of Paul’s presentation here. He's trying to let us know that Christ took our place because “it [was] appointed unto men once to die”; because of that Christ died once – taking our place. So, the argument is not to present to us that man has to die once but that Christ had to die once because man was to die once. You remember he was trying to compare Christ as the sacrifice to the goats, and the bulls that were offered year after year continually by the priests of the Old Testament. And this was what he was trying to let us understand.

Well, anyways, your real question is to explain the judgment; you said, [according to the scripture] “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:“, your question is “Please explain when and where the judgment will take place.”

Okay, we have to understand the words of Jesus in St. John’s Gospel Chapter 4, when you read form verse 24. Jesus said “God is a spirit” [John 4:24] and you have to understand that man is a spirit, and since this judgment is going to be after man’s death, it means it’s got nothing to do with the body. Now, the bible does say specifically “after this the judgment,” it doesn’t say “after this, judgment.” Now, if it says “after this judgment,” if he has said that, then we would have had the option to look at what could he have been talking about because there’re different kinds of judgment that the Bible talks about. But it says “after this the judgment.” There is only one “the judgment” and that refers to “the judgment of the Great White Throne”, which Jesus pointed out, and Paul talked about. Peter talked about it and John talked about it. So, at this time, I’d like to read to you from the Book of Revelation, the judgment that He’s talking about. Revelation Chapter No. 20, I’ll read to you from verse 11; John tells us the visions that he saw from God : “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them,” verse 12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [Revelations 20:11-12]

Did you notice, “the dead were judged.” This is important. So, he says, “As it is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment” that is the judgment that is coming after death. But, you see, for us Christians, Christ has died in our place, we don’t have to face that judgment and that’s why quoting that verse 27 [of Hebrews 9] correctly is very important, because there, he's not talking about physical death, he's referring to the death that everyone had to go through. So, it was appointed to man to die once. You see that? But, Christ has now died once and has died for us. Now, if he had been talking about physical death, then Lazarus died twice. Remember, he died, and then Jesus raised him up and then he died again. And then, the other ones whom Jesus raised from the dead died again; they’re all gone. That would mean dying twice. So, he wasn’t talking about physical death, he was talking about spiritual death. And those of us who are Christians, Christ has died in our place, and this is important.

So, here it says “I saw the dead,” in verse 11, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them,” verse 12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;” These are not bodies; these are spirits. They had died physically but now their spirits are before God and because they are spirits, don’t try to think about a large expanse of land because spirits don’t need to be on a land. They don’t need a land. It’s physical bodies that need a land; these are spirits, their bodies had died, but they’ve come up before God for the judgment. So, it says “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” These are not corpses; these are spirit beings standing before God to be judged. Verse 13, “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them…” Those who had gone to hell and the spirit of death had held some in bondage and they were given up. It says “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged every man according to their works.” So, they all stood before God. Now, and God is a spirit; look at verse 14: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

You see, man didn’t have to die twice, spiritually, but once. But now, those who rejected the death of Christ in their place are the ones who have to go through this. It says “This is the second death.” “As it is appointed to men once to die”, that means to die once. Christ bore our sins - he took our place - that’s the 28th verse of that 9th Chapter in the Book of Hebrews; so he was making an argument for Christ. Now, here it says, Verse 14 and 15 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” So, when you ask, “when will the judgment take place?” The judgment will take place…let me just give you a rundown of what’s going to happen.

Now, from today, what we are looking forward to is the ‘Rapture of the Church ‘, that is ‘the catching away of the Church’. Now, after that is the Great Tribulation which will begin in the middle of the 7 year period from when the Anti-Christ signs a deal for the protection of Israel, the nation of Israel. Now, that goes on till the 7th year, when Jesus Christ comes with his saints to this world, which is called the Second Coming of Christ and takes over the world for 1,000 years. You’re asking "when is this judgment?" That’s what I want to tell you. He [Jesus] takes over the world for 1,000 years called ‘the Millennial Rule of Christ’, and Satan is put at the bottomless pit and that continues until Christ and his followers leave to prepare for the Judgment; and then comes in the Battle of Gog and Magog. You see all of that in the Book of Revelation and then you also see from the Book of Ezekiel; you see all of these things there. Now, after that is when the real Judgment will take place - this Great White Throne Judgment takes place. So, that’s an answer to your question.

Episode 3 [Part 1] :: Introduction/Testimonies

Introduction: I want to welcome you to another edition of our program, where we attempt to answer your questions and share thoughts from God with you and also to pray for you. I believe the Spirit of God will touch you today, in a very special way. I’d like to begin with some of the testimonies; we’re getting lots of testimonies, and I’d like you to send yours as well.

Testimonies: This first one here is from Katty Immanuel from South Korea: Dear Pastor Chris, I thank God for the opportunity to watch Pastor Chris Online. After the program, I was under the anointing for over an hour and my life has not remained the same. I received visions and the ability to carry it out. Glory to God! God Bless you sir.

That’s wonderful. There’s another one here from Ukwai Mungu Lawrence from Uganda: I thank you Pastor for the wonderful answers to the questions asked. I have been really blessed.

Delia from Germany writes: Dear Pastor, I thank God for what he is doing to many lives through your ministry. Last week Tuesday (during the webcast), I received healing from a terrible allergy I had had for many years as you were praying.

That’s beautiful! And then, Lamie from France says: Some months ago, I had a dream that Pastor Chris prayed for me concerning pregnancy. Last week through the online video, after Pastor answered the question about women being pastors, of whom I am one, he prayed concerning a woman who wanted a child. I jumped into the prayer because I knew the prayer was for me. I know I now have my miracle. God bless you Pastor Chris. I’m also one of your partners. I believe in your teaching and I’ve bought almost all your teachings; I’ve bought more than 80 DVDs and tapes as well. I watch them again & again and I don’t miss the new materials. Thank you Pastor Chris from the bottom of my heart – Pastor & Mrs. Moinel.
